To strengthen our team, we are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician (m/f/d) for the Department of Ophthalmology - Laboratory for the LIONS Corneal Bank NRW, starting as soon as possible. This is a part-time position with 19.25 weekly working hours.

Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of human tissue (eye, placenta, etc.) and preparation for tissue culture under sterile conditions
  • Care of tissues under sterile conditions (tissue culture)
  • Quality control of tissues according to the Medicines Act (AMG) (cell count, vitality, etc.)
  • Microbiological and serological monitoring of donor tissue
  • Support in donor acquisition: contacting hospitals, doctors, authorities, etc.
  • Removal of human tissue from deceased individuals
  • Maintenance of hygienic standards in the laboratory: microbiological monitoring of the workbench, laboratory air, and work
