- Have a continual learning mindset; continue to expand professional knowledge and vocabulary to improve service to our customers

- Be 18 years old or older
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign national who has been lawfully admitted for permanent residence
- You must pass a background check by filling out all the required paperwork and conduct all screening in a timely manner.
- You must strictly adhere to the Interpreter's code of ethics created by Accent on Languages as well as industry professional associations.
- You must stay loyal to the source language, perform accurate and complete interpretation without ever providing counseling or personal opinions.
- You must adhere to confidentiality and never disclose any information that you interpret
- Must possess an Administrative Hearing Certification.
- Must possess an Administrative Hearing Certification that specifies the language and is appropriate to the service to be performed
- Has engaged in continuous education training and has two years of experience working for the state, local or federal government as a contracted interpreter
- Have demonstrated proficiency in English and the target language as demonstrated through testing. Language proficiency testing in the target language(s) and English is required for all levels of linguists in the four basic communications skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking)
- Documented completion of a language proficiency interview/assessment preferred for languages of lesser diffusion
- Current or previous government clearance preferred
- Experience in and familiarity with the government space strongly preferred
- A high school diploma, GED or equivalent; a four-year college degree preferred

Job Description:
We are looking for an Interpreter who will be responsible for providing interpretation services from an at-home office in the US for a State Government Agency. An Administrative Hearing Certification as well as prior training and experience working as an interpreter are necessary to provide accurate and complete interpretation. The interpreter may also need to pass an assessment test and conduct themselves according to Accent's ethical and professional guidelines. Successful Independent Contractor Interpreters will be expected to perform accurate and clear interpretation, communicate and convey ideas effectively, and provide excellent customer service.
