What you will do:
This position reports to the NE Regional Manager.
Will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Sioux Falls terminal and assist in oversight of NE Regional Terminals, including inventories, projects, inspections, work orders, equipment, and machinery through planning, coordinating, and directing all activities to ensure safety, compliance, maximum production, minimum downtime, and cost control.
Will assist with portable terminals within US Logistics.Main Objectives (not all inclusive):
Assisting in creating and adhering to the yearly budget.
Oversight on ensuring adequate inventories in NE Regional terminals.
Supervise and plan daily activities for Sioux Falls Terminal and assist with coordinating other terminals within the NE Region.
Manage performance of direct reports with emphasis on productivity, efficiency, safety, and service delivery.
Recruit, interview, select, train, motivate, coach, and mentor direct reports. Ensures that all applicable company policies/procedures are followed.
Monitoring contractors/ drivers on company grounds to ensure they have had site specifics and adhere to company policies and safety programs.
Ensure organized and up to date safety files.Responsible for directing and supervising GCC staff to promote accountability and nurture participation of employees on "Safety" within NE Region.
Ensure proper training via use of SOPs and routine attendance of safety meetings. Maintain organized/ up to date safety files.Ensure that all employees/contractors/drivers are trained to follow established state, federal and GCC safety and environmental policies, programs, and practices while on GCC property.
Aid in safety investigation accidents and incidents and take disciplinary action within a timely manner justified to the accident or incidents.
Report all accidents via telephone immediately followed up by an email to all concerned.Oversee all aspects including CI/SAP/POS/5S/Invoicing within NE Region terminals.
Oversee ordering of railcars and truck transports in NE Region.
Responsible for overseeing and work with employees on the maintenance and repair of all machinery and equipment, grounds and buildings in NE Region.
Oversee maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery used for portable terminals.Provide support with ordering replacement parts for equipment throughout logistic network.
Develop partnerships with external and internal customers.
Create a culture where that embraces customer service and seek to build deep lasting relationships with every level of customer organizations.
Ability to work within a team or independently as required.Skills and Experience:
Minimum 5 years of work experience in related logistics industry
2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prefer degree or additional training/education in logistics management.
Highly proficient with MS Office and other software related to Logistics.
This position will require up to 35% travel when needed to support NE Regional terminals and occasionally to assist/support other logistical regions throughout the US.
