Set up Experience Required

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to perform all operations and set ups in area.
  • Develop standardize set up procedures for die change and die interchange.
  • Train operators to standard procedures.
  • Read and understand blueprints and specifications.
  • Trouble-shoot problems relating to equipment, materials, and tooling.
  • Implement continuous improvement in set up time reduction.
  • Train operators to work in set up teams.
  • Monitor die sets to ensure set up parameters are being followed.
  • Back up team leader as needed.
  • Inspect 1st piece and last piece to ensure quality parts and process is being followed.
  • Train operators in safe handling and storage of dies.
  • Train operator in safe operation of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and make minor repairs of dies and equipment.
  • Coordinate PM of dies with internal departments and external die shops.
  • Support 5S and workplace organization activities.
  • Must be willing to work any shift as required to train set up teams.
  • Must maintain a safe, clean, orderly and hazard-free work area, promoting safety at all times and have knowledge of all safety rules.
  • Support quality meetings as required and update team leaders and managers of improvement actions.
  • Must comply with Wayne Metals, LLC quality system requirements, defect/error prevention.

  • Willing to work overtime as required.
  • Performs other tasks as required by Management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school graduate and 3 years equivalent experience in Punch Press set up and operator.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

Capable of interpreting drawings and specifications.

Knowledge of basic SPC.

Knowledge of machine capabilities.

Read and understand all blueprints and specifications.
