    Job Description

    · Interpret medical histories and relay pertinent information to the Clinic Director

    · Safely and humanely restrain companion animals with an emphasis on fear free and low stress techniques.

    · Accurately record medical information into the clinic software.

    · Administer vaccinations, microchips, sedatives, pre-anesthetic drugs, and anesthetic drugs under the direction of the Clinic Director.

    · Perform general anesthesia safely on canines, felines and small mammals.

    · Perform dental exams, cleanings, radiographs and extractions.

    · Perform diagnostic services for Clinic Director to interpret, document results, and communicate to Veterinary Assistants.

    · Recover patients from anesthesia.

    · Provide post-operative, vaccination, preventative care, medication and microchipping counseling to clients, escalating concerns and inquiries to Clinic Director as appropriate.

    · Clean, sanitize, and maintain veterinary equipment and surgical tools.

    · Assist Clinic Director in oversight, training, and support for Veterinary Assistants, drafting SOPs and maintaining inventory.

    · Perform other duties as assigned.

    · Ability to lift 30 pounds and to sit, stand, bend, stop and walk for a full workday.

    · Ability to work around pet dander, dust and other allergens.

    · Must be comfortable handling dogs, cats, and other small animals of varying sizes and temperaments.

    · Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    · Ability to deal with difficult and stressful situations involving animals and customers.

    · Ability to use computer systems and learn new software.
