VMWare System Administrator (Hybrid Onsite - Locals Only)


Location:
Hartford, CT

Duration: 12 Months


Pay Rate:
$65/hr on Corp-Corp


Job Description:

**Provide server and related infrastructure support to the Connecticut Department of Public Health State Laboratory, which is implementing new laboratory information management systems and a new high-performance computing device for genomic sequencing work

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining server hardware and operating systems
  • Administration and management of VMWare infrastructure like vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and virtual machines.
  • Managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring high availability.
  • Implementing security measures, including backups, and data protection.
  • Managing software updates, patches, and system upgrades.
  • Automating administrative tasks and creating scripts for system management.
  • Craft and implement network configurations and test plans
  • Gathering and presenting System Performance Metrics
  • Perform platform software upgrades and failover testing
  • Administration of routers, switches, and other network equipment
  • Perform audits as needed
  • Work with IT teams in preparing platform enhancements and configurations
  • Identify areas of the infrastructure for optimization
  • Develop detailed architectural diagrams and procedure documents
