- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of position
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
- Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with the CEO, physicians, department managers and the general public
- Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and, at times, hostile people within the facility
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Excellent customer service and staff coordination skill
- Experience in Medical or Hospitality preferred

The purpose of a Housekeeping Aide is to perform daily laundry and linen cleaning to maintain a hygienic, safe, and well-kept facility for the residents and co-workers
DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY:
You have the authority to perform any assigned task and report all unsafe conditions to the Director of Environmental Services
JOB FUNCTIONS:

Each room is treated as 2 separate rooms. Initial inspection and notation of maintenance issues. Collect trash, disinfect can in and out, reline can. Dust high areas, walls, and lampshades. Refill paper towel and soap dispensers in sink area and refill hand sanitizer in every room. Dust/wipe down all horizontal surfaces, this should include window sills and radiators. Disinfect "high contact items" (this includes remote controls, light switches, lamps, and call bells.Efficiently clean bathroom using the "7 Step Process":
Collect trash, refill dispensers, sweep/dry mop floor, clean walls, disinfect toilet exterior, scrub bowl, damp mop floor. Sweep/dry-mop floor, being sure to get under radiators, furniture and bed. Wet-mop floors, place wet floor sign at entrance. Inspect room for quality control. Refill paper towel and soap dispensers in Nursing sink area for your "base" unit. Restock housekeeping closet at the end of the day.

Open communication with all nursing stations, as well as the MV Hospital staff, assists in the efficient working of the facility
