Description

The Art Director will oversee and create the design and layout of images and visuals for Prentice Organization & Foreside Development.

Projects may include but are not limited to website maintenance, production of investor reports, brochures, and marketing videos/materials.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Consults with internal clients to determine the artistic approach and style of a project.
  • Collaborates with group leaders, managing partners, and/or other project participants to understand project assignment, audience, and intended message.
  • Decides how to best represent an idea visually.
  • Oversees the creation of an overall look for a project.
  • Creates original visual media that communicates the desired feeling or message in an engaging and unified way.
  • Selects fonts for written copy; produces sample layout for approval by internal clients.
  • Prepares drafts of design work and provides samples for review.
  • Revises projects as necessary based on collaborative feedback process.
  • Prepares print orders and assembly instructions on notification of final approval.
  • Presents designs to internal clients for approval.
  • Performs other related duties as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of graphic design and brand development.
  • Ability to work in various artistic media.
  • Mastery of graphic design software and photo editing software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite or other similar design software.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently on an assignment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelors degree required; major or significant coursework in Art, Graphic Design, or related disciplines highly preferred.
  • At least three years of related work experience highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:


  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

Pay:
$55, $70,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:


  • Graphic design: 2 years (preferred)
Adobe Creative Suite: 2 years (preferred)


Ability to Commute:

  • Portland, ME required)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Portland, ME 04101: Relocate before starting work (required)
