- Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
- Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers.
- Insert items into containers
- Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged and/or poor quality items, record shortages, and correspond with buyer to rectify damages and shortages
- Select an order based on printed document stating quantity and type of product needed
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Inventory counts
- Operate tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.

- 1 - 2 years dock or forklift experience
- Must be forklift and pallet jack trained and certified
- Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Able to write simple correspondence
- Able to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Able to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems
