    Overview

    As the primary point of contact upon guest arrival, the host / hostess is mainly responsible for greeting and seating guests in a friendly, professional and efficient manner. Communication and coordination abilities are paramount when noting and treating any intricate guess requests. The host / hostess always pays close attention to detail and is the liaison between guests and FOH/BOH staff to ensure a seamless guest experience that is synonymous with Milos standards.

    Primary roles and responsibilities
    • Welcomes and greets guests as they enter; ensures a smooth flow at the entrance and throughout the restaurant at all times
    • Makes guests feel comfortable while waiting; escorts them to the bar or directly to their table
    • Checks-in, stores and retrieves outerwear and assorted personal belongings for guests
    • Takes part in pre-service duties and applicable closing duties, prints menus, updates and prints shift summary notes
    • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations and responds confidently to guest inquiries
    • Exhibits familiarity with menus items and ingredients
    • Answers phone calls and provides information on reservations, availability, restaurant hours and services
    • Acts as a Milos brand ambassador; undertakes all duties and responsibilities while upholding core company values
    • Ensures proper levels of stationary are maintained in reception area at all time
    • Interacts with guests as they leave the restaurant to ensure a memorable experience
    Requirements
    • A minimum of one (1) year experience in an upscale dining setting
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Able to work in a fast-pace, team environment
    • Able to multi-task, is receptive to feedback and direction
    • Knowledge of POS and reservation systems (an asset)
    • Open availability and weekends are a must
    Hourly salary range:$20-$24/hour
