    Job Opportunity:

    STV is currently hiring an HVAC/Mechanical Engineering Specialist for the Vehicle Center of Excellence. In this role, you will be involved in diverse rail vehicle procurement projects, including commuter rail, heavy rail, intercity, and light rail.

    Key requirements for this position include experience in HVAC, ASHRAE standards, and HVAC load calculations. Candidates should also possess knowledge of rail vehicle HVAC systems and ventilation applications, focusing on design details for maintenance access, service robustness, safety features, troubleshooting, and passenger comfort.

    Responsibilities:

    • Contribute to design reviews and solutions for rail vehicle HVAC systems
    • Develop technical specifications for railcar procurements
    • Travel internationally and domestically to support design reviews, inspections, testing, and addressing technical issues
    • Support other mechanical systems related to rail vehicle procurement and overhaul programs
    • Review and evaluate supplier HVAC designs for compliance with specifications and standards
    • Prepare technical studies utilizing AutoCAD and 3D models, database development, and test data analysis
    • Participate in project and design review meetings

    Qualifications:

    • Hold a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited institution
    • Demonstrate flexibility, willingness to undertake various tasks, and a passion for engineering
    • Possess experience in HVAC system design, rail vehicle systems, and effective communication skills
    • Be prepared for travel up to 25% of the time
