    We're looking for a skilled and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to join our team!

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Nursing Services Department.


    Includes:
    - Licensed staff - Nursing assistants and orderlies - Print-outs of physicians' orders - Physician visits - Recertifications - Medication reviews - Time schedules - In-services - Infection Control - Utilization reviews

    • Recognize and respond to changes in patients' conditions and document observations.
    • Perform emergency procedures such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
    • Arrange for and oversee the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
    • Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures.
    • Participate in surveys made by authorized government agencies.
    • Determine staffing needs and assist with recruitment and hiring.
    • Facilitate coordination of nursing services with other departments.
    • Conduct employee performance evaluations and monitor disciplinary situations.
    • Review, monitor, and document complaints and grievances.
    • Prepare reports and recommendations for the Administrator.
    • Participate in various committees of the facility.
    • Oversee and approve personnel scheduling.
    • Monitor workplace for possible health and safety hazards.
    • Prepare and implement department budgets.
    • Ensure equal opportunity and anti-discrimination policies are followed.
    • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records.
    • Establish an atmosphere of optimism and interest in patients' needs.
    • Audit documentation for errors or inconsistencies.
    • Review personnel licensure and certifications.
    • Assist in developing discharge planning procedures.
    • Inventory, identify, and monitor equipment and supplies.
    • Maintain a reference library of nursing materials.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Required Work Experience:

    • Three (3) years' supervision experience in healthcare.
    • Minimum of one (1) year experience in total patient care.
    • Minimum of six (6) months managing a nursing department.

    Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred, Registered Nursing Degree required.

    License/Certification Requirements:

    • Registered Nursing License.

    Other Requirements:

    • May require unscheduled overtime and weekend work.
    • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours.

    Travel requiredRequired Computer Software:

    • Advanced Microsoft Suite.
    • Ability to learn HRIS and/or applicant tracking systems.
    • OutlookEquipment Used.
    • Standard Office Equipment.

    ComputerPhysical Requirements:

    • Job may require frequent lifting of objects up to 40 pounds.
    • Subject to various physical demands.
    • Work is typically performed in a standard office environment.

    Required Safety Expectations:

    • Report unsafe working conditions and behaviors.
    • Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Supervises support staff including scheduling and assigning work.
    • Occasionally needs manager's direction due to extraordinary circumstances.
