PRIMARY PURPOSE:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate (recognized by the TEA or other official accrediting agency).
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality regarding student records.
- Must be selfmotivated and possess the ability to multitask and effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with parents, students, school officials and as a team member.
- Ability to implement oral and written instructions with mínimal supervision.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus; able to read, write and speak Business Spanish proficiently.
Experience:
- Special knowledge of school operations, the McKinney-Vento Act, PEIMS data standards, and FERPA guidelines.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

- Perform a variety of clerical duties in support of the district's McKinney-Vento Assistance Program; provide general support in meeting needs of students experiencing homelessness.
- Assist in acquiring and assembling materials for various projects; prepare and distribute a variety of correspondence and informational materials related to the McKinney-Vento Assistance Program.
- Provide general communication and services in support of the McKinney-Vento Assistance Program; initiate, receive and route telephone calls; take and relay messages; provide general information concerning programs, services, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in arranging and conducting special events, for the McKinney-Vento Assistance Program; notify participants of related schedules, locations, and information.
- Compile and verify a variety of data, paperwork and information pertaining to BISD McKinney-Vento Assistance Program.
- Input various data into an assigned computer system as required; maintain automated records and files; generate computerized lists and reports as directed.
- Collaborate with campuses and community agencies to coordinate the acquisition and/or delivery of designated supplies. Monitor McKinney-Vento supplies, inventory, and checkin items as appropriate.
- Communicate with Transportation, families, and other individuals to communicate updates and changes to bus routes for specific McKinney-Vento eligible students.
- Assist with District Registration for McKinney Vento families. Maintains methods and documentation for tracking the number and location of highly mobile/homeless students.
- Ensures public notice of educational rights of homeless children and youth, under the McKinney-Vento Education Act, is disseminated in locations frequented by parents or guardians, children, youth, and unaccompanied youth including schools, shelters, public libraries, housing complexes, etc., in a manner understandable to families.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Administrator to meet the particular needs of the program/department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No supervisory duties.
EQUIPMENT USED:
- Personal computer, network computerized system, fax machine, copier, scanners, and any other equipment needed for work efficiency.
