Brief Job Summary:

Assist nurses (RN or LPN) in providing support to all youth


Typically Reports To:

Nurses and Director of Medical Department.


Qualifications:


  • Must understand English both written and spoken.
  • Must have current certification and registration with the Illinois Department of Health if CNA
  • Successfully completed a state approved nurse aide training program if CNA
  • Must be able to safely and successfully perform job related functions, with or without reasonable accommodations by federal, state and local law.
  • Must be flexible with hours to accommodate transporting of youth to medical/surgical appointments.
  • Must have an unencumbered Illinois State Drivers License
  • Must be available to work weekends as scheduled

Main Functions:


  • Provide support to nursing staff during psychiatric clinic and ensure appropriate maintenance of youth's medical records.
  • Ensure efficient communication network and manage flow of traffic.
  • Provide assistance to nurses as requested and ensure appropriate cleanliness of offices.
  • Coordinate with various departments and ensure proper services and supplies.
  • Prepare and update youth charts with ancillary reports and forms from various departments.
  • Maintain discharge summary reports for all youth and maintain records of all youth.
  • Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment and assist in managing all requisitions for same.
  • Maintain records of youth's medical card and provide copy for charts
  • Maintain and file records of medical visits
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures for office staff and youth
  • Safely drive youth on all medical appointments
  • Weigh all youth monthly and document in Evolv
  • Coordinate with Director on all policy matters.

Additional Functions:


  • Assist nurse(s) with admitting and discharging youths.
  • Assist nurse(s) with giving treatments and examining youths.
  • Must be able to establish professional relationships with all youth, staff and community providers
