Director, Procurement (Category Management, Indirect Goods and Services)


As a key member of the Procurement Leadership Team this role provides maximum value to the corporation through coordinated and strategic Enterprise-wide Category Management of Indirect goods and services within Consulting and Professional services, Contingent labor, Legal, Human Resources (People & Benefits, Recruiting, & Training).

This individual will grow and sustain partnerships with business stakeholders and enable AbbVie to be a customer of choice for suppliers.


Responsibilities

  • Maximize category value by employing the following levers: Sourcing & Price Management, Demand Management, Transformational Sourcing, Specification Harmonization, & Process Optimization
  • Manage category long range plan including strategy development, implementation, & modification
  • Provide leadership and strategic vision for AbbVie to optimize company value through selection of quality suppliers, factbased negotiations, and performancebased contracting to protect the company's interests
  • Drive Supplier Diversity and Sustainability targets
  • Drive continuous improvement of Procurement processes and systems in alignment with Functional and Enterprise leadership
  • Lead Global Supplier Relationship Management with top suppliers
  • Develop senior level relationships with regional suppliers to anticipate and proactively address critical issues
  • Drive geographic stakeholder alignment within Europe, Asia, Latin America on spend management, savings opportunities and strategic supplier sourcing needs
  • Drive business unit stakeholder alignment with AbbVie / Allergan Aesthetics and therapeutic commercial organizations as well as affiliate indirect needs
  • Ensure that the functions, countries, and business units understand and comply with the appropriate corporate policies and processes as they related to procurement transactions
  • Coordinate internally with Procurement leadership on process, technology, organizational alignment, and strategic procurement imperatives
  • Lead international category and procurement managers inclusively and equitably, always engaging in a manner consistent with AbbVie target behaviors. #LI-AL1

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years Procurement Leadership experience with increasing global responsibility and experience in a large matrixed company environment
  • 5+ years experience leading teams in multiple countries with a focus on building diverse, high performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead crossfunctional teams in a complex, global organization
  • Experience with outsourcing and IT Procurement highly preferred
  • Strong leadership and effective business partnering capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated success developing and executing on a multiyear strategy
  • Robust project and change management skills
  • Track record for thriving within a time of transformation within a highpaced environment
  • Ability and desire to grow into VP level
  • Ability to work onsite in Lake County IL 3 days per week

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
