- Design and implement research studies
- Collect and analyze data; perform quality control, interpret, summarize results
- Master prior literature and place findings in appropriate scientific context. Publish results in peer-review journals.
- Collaborate with other researchers in the lab to improve the efficiency of research.
- PhD in cell biology, microbiology, immunology, or related fields
- Substantial expertise in microbiome bioinformatics, multi-dimensional flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy
- Additional skills/areas of expertise that are valued include: gnotobiotics, intestinal biology, T cell biology, mouse husbandry

Job Description:
The position focuses on research investigating the interaction between the intestinal microbiota and gamma delta T cells in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients and murine models in Dr.
Karen Edelblum's lab ) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.The candidate will lead independent projects to investigate the contribution of specific microbiota in the regulation of gamma delta T cells and potential underlying molecular mechanisms regulating T cell function to identify potential therapeutic opportunities.
The candidate should have a solid background in microbiota research pertaining to host/microbe interactions. Interested individuals will be encouraged to develop an independent research program and eventually apply for independent grant funding.Responsibilities
