    JOB TITLE: Youth and Family Director

    REPORTS TO: Associate Executive Director

    FLSA TYPE: Salaried, Exempt

    JOB PURPOSE:

    The Youth and Family Director will administer all functions related to the family engagement programs, day camp, education initiatives and sports at the Herman and Kate Kaiser YMCA. A direct focus is required for the recruitment and retention of program participants through excellent customer service and high-level programming. The Youth and Family Director is responsible for the overall atmosphere, curriculum implementation, and age-appropriate development of each child at Summer Day Camp and year- round out of school camps. They will have a direct focus on school and community relations, partnership development and relationships, program evaluation, recruitment & management of GO Club afterschool program (at assigned sites) and capacity to support student achievement. They will manage all ages sports operations, and family engagement programs. This position collaborates with both branch and association teams to ensure children and their families are a part of a learning community in which they experience a sense of wonder, play, adventure, imagination, and support. Must strive to work cooperatively with fellow employees to achieve the goals and objectives of the YMCA.

    PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (not a complete list):

    1. Effectively plan, develop and manage all assigned programs.
    2. Responsible for budgeting, expense control, income generations in the day camp and sports department.
    3. Create, develop, and maintain relationships with community partners.
    4. Increase membership and participant retention.
    5. Recruit, develop and staff.
    6. Consistently communicate with property managers regarding cleanliness and safety of facility.
    7. Facilitate communication between all departments so members are aware of all programs &opportunities available to them.
    8. Coordinate scheduling so the facility operates seamlessly.
    9. Assist with promotion plan for programs and events including flyers, brochures, website, newsletter, news releases, advertisements.
    10. Accurate and timely with all assignments, deadlines, etc.
    11. Perform additional duties as assigned.
    Requirements

    SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE:

    Required:

    Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) o r equivalent experience

    Minimum3yearsexperienceworkingintheyouthdevelopmentindustry.

    Minimum of 3 years of volunteer or staff supervision experience

    Proven ability to raise funds and grow membership and participant registrations

    Preferred:

    Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (can obtain)

    Knowledge of budgeting and expense control.

    Excellent written and oral communication skills

    Bilingual - English Spanish

    Salary Description

    $46-49,000 annually
