Summary:


Depository Duties:


  • Opens new accounts, explaining options such as single and joint ownership, revocable trust accounts, and various savings and certificate and checking account programs available; gathering needed information from the customer, transferring funds from existing accounts.
  • Prepares all paperwork and assists the customer in the signing of documents necessary to process new accounts. Receives initial deposit and ensures that all new accounts are properly processed.
  • Actively crosssells the Bank's services in a professional manner.
  • Counsels customers on the merits of the various investment options, and processes changes of ownership.
  • Completes all arrangements and documents for such services as, direct deposit, online banking, bill pay, and mobile banking.
  • Answers questions and solves problems for customers and branch staff concerning all services provided by the Bank by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers, and reporting results to the inquiring party in a timely manner.
  • Opens IRA CD retirement accounts, including acquainting the customer with minor legal requirements, gathering necessary information, and preparing the documents.
  • Processes all retirement accounts and direct deposit forms, checking for accuracy before forwarding to the appropriate area at the home office.
  • Comply with all state and federal regulatory requirements including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA/AML)

Lending Duties:


  • Interview consumer loan applicants at prospective customer locations or in the Bank to discuss loan requests.
  • Complete the loan package ensuring that documents required for processing, underwriting and closing are secured in a timely manner from appropriate sources.
  • Supervise loan documentation services making certain that all necessary documents are completed accurately and comply with local, state, national laws, (e. g. Zoning ordinances, Truthin Lending, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA, flood zoning, energy audit requirements, etc.).
  • Resolve any issues concerning documentation to insure that loans are properly documented.
  • Keep abreast of lending regulations and requirements. Utilize a checklist for monitoring receipt of loan documentation.
  • Provide financial counsel to customers within the realm of own experience and knowledge.
  • Attend seminars and training as appropriate to assigned lending responsibilities.
  • Develop and implement relationship strategies for crossselling bank products and services and referring business to other Bank employees and Oostburg Financial Services, LLC.
  • Keep uptodate on lending products and services offered in financial institutions. Make suggestions for adding or changing existing loan products.
  • Strict compliance with the Bank Loan Policy.
  • When deficiencies are noted, assign the lender responsible with making the change on the loans they initiate. If problems persist or trends develop, discuss these issues with the VP
  • Retail Lending, so that corrective action can be taken.

Position Requirements:


  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week.
  • Must be able to attend early Bank meetings
  • Must have access to reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to attend outside events

Preferred Education and Eligibility:


  • Bachelor degree in Finance or Business
  • Three or more years of experience in Consumer Lending.
  • Meet and maintain qualifications required to be registered with NMLSR by the Safe Act.

Working Conditions:

  • Environment: Work is performed in a standard office setting which includes using office equipment such as: computers, calculators, phones, photocopiers, printers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Employee may be required to work before and after hours, and on weekends and holidays.
  • Physical: Primary function requires sufficient physical ability, mobility, and manual dexterity to work in an office setting. To stand or sit for long periods of time, including stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting. This position may include lifting, carrying, pushing, and or pulling light to moderate amounts of weight.
  • Must enjoy working with people, be able to work as part of a team and be professional in appearance and disposition.
