Part-time legal office assistant

Location:
Pico Rivera, CA

Join our team at Preferred, an interpreting agency covering assignments of all languages throughout the west coast and a rehabilitation center offering services to injured workers.

We are seeking a part-time legal office assistant to join our dynamic team with room for upward growth.


Schedule:
Monday - Wednesday (8-hour shift) OR Tuesday-Thursday (8-hour shift)

Hours: 18-24 hours a week


Pay Rate:
$16-$20 depending on experience

Qualifications and major responsibilities for this position include:

• Draft initial notices, correspondence, petitions, and pleadings for review
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (word, outlook and excel) is a MUST
• Excellent typing skills
• Scan documents into database and file systems
• Efficient workflow which includes the duplication, printing, mailing and merging of documents
• Preparing and maintaining client and office files both in electronic and paper filing systems
• Ability to manage hearing representatives' calendar and calendar court dates
• Efile documents with direction
• Pull closed files
• Provide general mail assistance
• Strong organizational skills such as file and database management
• Maintain office cleanliness

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Some college preferred
• Spanish speaker preferred
• Some legal office or administrative support experience
• Knowledge of office equipment including telephones, copy/scan equipment, Microsoft office, fax, and excellent typing skills
