Summary:

The Project Accountant at Nor-Cal Pipeline will be well organized and motivated to increase the departments accuracy and efficiency.

To succeed as a Project Accountant, you should be focused on optimizing the department process and building lasting relationships with others within and outside of the business.

You should be knowledgeable, analytical, and decisive with excellent communication skills.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


The duties and responsibilities described here are not a comprehensive list, and the scope of the job may change as necessitated by the business demands.


  • Setup new projects in accordance with contract and budget costs.
  • Enter project change orders and estimates.
  • Process monthly billing for all projects and corresponding paperwork.
  • Process Purchase orders.
  • Collection correspondence to everyone over 30 days.
  • Accounts Payable Invoice Entry.
  • Review Accounts Payable Statements.
  • Process final billing to close out project.
  • Month end closing tasks.
  • Monthly WIP review and adjustments as needed.
  • Issue, maintain and track subtier contracts and compliance items.
  • Submission of preliminary notices.
  • Communicate with customers and vendors as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employees and client's vendors.
  • Works with others as needed to make entry corrections and reconcile accounts.
  • Answer phones as needed.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

  • 13 years minimum experience in Accounting.
  • Construction experience preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and to multitask in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discrete professional manner.
  • Eye for detail, accuracy is imperative.
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Able to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Motivation to develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Commitment to ethical behavior with willingness to adhere to all company policies.
  • Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative.

Required Skills:


  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and written skills with customers and employees. Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, word, excel and outlook. Proficiency with bookkeeping software. Must have organizational skills and be detail oriented. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and accounts.
