This position is tasked with recruiting incoming undergraduate transfer students as part of the overall admission team.

The Assistant Director of Transfer Admission is responsible for achieving enrollment goals comprised primarily of transfer students in addition to other assigned territories.

The professional in this role contributes to the overall success of the department by leading and participating in various recruitment activities.

He or she will provide personalized communication to prospective students, parents, transfer counselors, school counselors and others in order to achieve enrollment goals.


Essential Duties Summary

  • Use the College's CRM tools to communicate with students and log daily interactions;
  • Deliver small and large group presentations to persuade students to enroll at New England College;
  • Travel to community colleges and high schools to attend recruitment fairs to meet with prospective students, parents, and school counselors;
  • Communicate with community college transfer counselors, high school counselors, parents, teachers, alumni, coaches, and other key influencers of prospective students;
  • Participate in oncampus and offcampus programs hosted by the College to recruit students;
  • Work closely with the College Registrar's staff to facilitate the timely flow of transcripts and credit evaluations for applicants.
  • Demonstrate a nuanced understanding of academic program requirements and transfer credit policies in order to explain NEC's process and curricular map to prospective students.
  • Work with NEC faculty and staff to coordinate recruitment efforts;
  • Collect and analyze data as part of ongoing assessment of recruitment, and provide enrollment forecasts;
  • Manage special projects, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 24 years experience in undergraduate admissions and/or related fields with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highenergy disposition, goaloriented work style, strong customer service orientation
  • Willingness to travel periodically throughout the Northeast
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with transfer admission, academic advising, registration or related functions within a college or university
