Duties:


  • You will serve as head of the Conservation Law Enforcement Section, chief enforcement official, and lead conservation law enforcement investigator for MCB Quantico.
  • You will identify training needs by subordinates and ensure that training opportunities are provided.
  • You will develop organization and personnel management strategies and options.
  • You will plan, direct, supervise and conduct undercover operations.
  • You will interview witnesses and obtain statements.
  • You will ensure that investigative reports of subordinates are timely, complete and accurate and distributed to appropriate authorities.
  • You will provide training and guidance to subordinates.
  • You will ensure all subordinates understand administrative policies and requirements.
  • You will attend legal hearings as a representative of the Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs Division.
  • You will account for outdoor recreational users and lead search and rescue missions as needed.
  • You will support outdoor recreation programs authorized by Sikes Act Improvement Act.
  • You will collect physical evidence through searches.
  • You will initiate, plan, direct, supervise, and conduct criminal investigation of persons/parties who are suspected of offenses of the criminal laws of the United States with a focus on laws pertaining to fish, wildlife, and cultural resources.
  • You will provide law enforcement expertise to Headquarters Marine Corps and assist with developing Marine Corps policies and procedures, coordinating officer training, and issuing ammunition and weapons across the Marine Corps.
  • You will coordinate directly with Federal, State, and local law enforcement authorities and with other organizations within and external to the Installation for purposes of planning and executing complex law enforcement operations.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You must have already completed either Land Management Police Training or Criminal Investigator Training Program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center to be eligible for this position.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.

Qualifications:


  • Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Supervising all investigations which involve violation of criminal laws and providing assistant to local, state and other federal agencies in joint investigations; 2) Developing and submitting proper reports to provide testimony in state and federal courts; 3) Conducting initial weapons training and qualifications for all newly hired Law Enforcement officers; 4) Overseeing investigations, apprehensions or detention of individuals suspected or convicted of violations of criminal laws; 5) Executing undercover operations, serving search warrants and seizing illegal goods; and 6) Conducting law enforcement activities involving fish, wildlife, and cultural resources.
