Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Eligibility Specialist to join our team. As an Eligibility Specialist, you will play a crucial role in verifying insurance coverage and ensuring accurate eligibility determinations. This position requires strong knowledge of medical office procedures, coding, and insurance verification.


Duties:


  • Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients
  • Review and interpret medical records and documentation
  • Ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures using ICD9 and ICD10 codes
  • Collaborate with medical office staff to gather necessary information for eligibility determination
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling patient information
  • Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any discrepancies or issues with coverage
  • Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits and coverage limitations
  • Update patient records with accurate insurance information
  • Provide support to the billing department as needed

Experience:


  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Eligibility Specialist or similar role in a medical office setting
  • Strong knowledge of medical office procedures, including insurance verification and managed care processes
  • Proficiency in using ICD9 and ICD10 codes for accurate coding purposes
  • Familiarity with dental office procedures is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, insurance companies, and medical staff

Note:
All positions must be paid, including internship positions.


Pay:
$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
