    Job Description

    The School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at the Tempe campus is seeking a self-starting, collaborative, and detail-oriented team member to join the Advising team. Under general supervision, this individual will assist with course scheduling, general and curricular events and activities, and data reporting processes for SBHSE in accordance with the priorities set by School leadership and the Office of the Provost. This position will also interface with students, parents, and community members via email, phone, and office visitors.

    Essential Duties

  • Under direct supervision, complete all assigned class schedule updates and changes.
  • Maintain course schedule and room schedules in university systems.
  • Respond to front office inquiries in a timely manner using effective interpersonal communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills as appropriate to address questions and concerns.
  • Maintain knowledge of structure and location of various data sources to assist in creation of queries and applications utilizing that data.
  • Accurately interpret, encode, verify, and maintain degree programs throughout a variety of degree audits.
  • Assist with data management within PeopleSoft to support course and faculty needs forecasting.
  • Maintain knowledge of the university scheduling process, including class logistics
  • Create and maintain documentation for processes and projects.
  • Plan and prioritize workload to meet set deadlines.
  • Develops work plans in accordance with established unit and program objectives and funding limitations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues submitted.
  • Maintain collaborative rapport with appropriate departments, centers and units to assess event needs and develop event recommendations and plans.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse (85%); frequently required to stand and walk (15%)
