Description

The van Waveren Saaten GmbH specializes in breeding high-quality vegetable varieties with a leading role in the global food production industry. From our location in Rosdorf, we coordinate our breeding, seed production, and distribution in over 35 countries with a team of 33 employees. Van Waveren was founded in 1898 and has been part of the French family business Deleplanque since 2020.

To strengthen our highly motivated team, we are currently looking for a:

Responsibilities

Taking responsibility for various breeding programs after training
Tasks in the field of classical breeding methods and further development of methods such as marker-assisted selection, doubled haploids, data collection and analysis, systems to support breeding decisions, etc.
Supervising and scheduling technical assistants and seasonal workers
Planning and overseeing trials in Germany and abroad
Supporting the sales team with market analysis and competitor monitoring
Conceiving and supervising research projects in collaboration with scientific institutions

Qualifications

Completed scientific university degree in plant breeding (MSc. / Dipl. / PhD) in agricultural sciences, agricultural biology, or biology with a focus on plant breeding
Excellent knowledge of classical breeding methods and
