The Engineering Technician IV Supervisor - VA will work directly for and assist the Assistant Program Manager - VA.

The Engineering Technician IV Supervisor - VA will interface with engineering, drafting, and other departments to maintain department workload, assign personnel, oversee safety, maintain proper documentation, approve acquisitions, and perform quality control.

The Engineering Technician IV Supervisor - VA will be located in Williamsburg, VA.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Schedules departmental workload and assigns personnel to accomplish daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
  • Oversees departmental safety programs and provides training and discipline, if necessary, for department personnel.
  • Ensures proper documentation and records are current, as required, for all maintenance and repair or other departmental activities.
  • Prepares reports on departmental work and orders part and supplies.
  • Approves requisitions and work orders and provides inspection and quality control for assigned work.
  • Communicates continuously with engineering personnel and interdepartmental supervisors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • High school diploma/GED or associate degree in engineering or applicable technical field, and/or technical or trade school, or armed services technical training curriculum.
  • Five years of experience supervising other personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule department workload and assign personnel to accomplish daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee department safety programs and provide training and discipline, if necessary, for department personnel.
  • Ability to interface with engineering, drafting, and other departments concerning inprogress and future projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure proper documentation and records are maintained, as required, for all maintenance and repair or other departmental activities; prepare reports on department work, order parts and supplies, and approve requisitions and work orders; and provide inspection and quality control for assigned work.
  • Ability to pass a preemployment drug/alcohol screen and background check, as required.
