The Human Resources Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the HR department by performing various administrative tasks and ensuring efficient operations.

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, process background checks, issue drug test paperwork and ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Assist employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
  • Records/enters all nondirect labor hours in the ERP system as well as audit direct timecard entry for union employees: Making the appropriate corrections &/or adjustments,
  • Balance daily timecard entries and weekly payroll reports, Prepares and balance totals for the varies weekly union payroll reports.
  • Process payroll for union employees through ADP, Account for all checks and vouchers (direct deposits) issued with each payroll, sort alphabetically in department order.
  • Prepares and issues daily timecards for all union employees, sorting by dates, departments and delivering to the appropriate supervisor (monthly).
  • Maintain employee attendance records.
  • Maintain temporary employee timesheet collection, transmitting to the appropriate agency, matching invoices, and filing.
  • General office duties (filing, scanning, copying, shredding, etc).
  • Assist in organizing employee relations events as needed (Company lunches, Vendor meetings, etc).
  • Record and maintain all employee training records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by HR Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 12 years of previous experience in an HR administrative role.
  • Experience processing payroll.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio) and experience with ERP systems is desirable.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Position is full time onsite - no remote work

Pay:
$ $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
