MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from a law school accredited by an organization
recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)

or by the United States Department of Education (USDE) with a

Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree.


  • Seven years full-time, wage-earning experience as a licensed attorney
or in a legal clerkship with one year as legal counsel for a governmental

agency.


  • Three years full-time, wage-earning experience in the supervision
of employees.


  • Experience as administrative, contract, criminal, or labor/employment
law preferred.


  • Experience as a legal counsel in governmental preferred.
  • Must maintain a current active license to practice law in the State of
Texas during employment with the Board of Pardons and Paroles (BPP)

through the State Bar of Texas.

**The salary for an ERS Retiree (or non-contributing member) may be

reduced by 2.5%.**The following Military Occupational Specialty codes are generally

applicable to this position. Applicants must fully complete the

summary of experience to determine if minimum qualifications are met.
