We are looking for a research scientist with expertise in Power Systems control and optimization for our research center in Raleigh, North Carolina.

As a scientist in the global Hitachi Energy Research organization, you will propose and lead cutting-edge research projects to push the boundaries of knowledge and technology for Hitachi Energy's future products and services.

Your Responsibilities

Propose, contribute to and lead R&D projects in power and energy systems
Collaborate with a global team to identify and solve real-world challenges for our customers.
Propose and work on novel ideas and concepts for the next generation of power systems.
Network in the company and actively distribute your knowledge and expertise.
Collaborate with external partners including universities, startups, and vendors.
Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports.

Your Background

D. degree in either Electrical Engineering or ISE/Operation research degree with power system application focus

Power system operation principles and issues
Power system modeling, AC and DC grids, including DER and IBR modeling.
Market based system operation.
Constrained optimization theory and tools for Linear Programming (LP), mixed integer programming (MIP), Non-Linear Programming (NLP), Non-Linear Mixed Integer Programming (NLMIP)
Excellent leadership and communication skills, team player attitude, initiative, and creativity.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Fluency in common programming languages like Python or C++, Matlab
