Description
Job DetailsJob LocationHuntsvilleThe work is performed at our customer site in Huntsville, AL. Due to the nature of the role, this is not being offered as a teleworking or hybrid position.
Job Duties:
Responsible for analyzing complex systems and developing solutions to structural analysis problems.
Performs structural analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Generates reports and presents to Government counterparts, defense contractors, and other cross-functional organizations.Research, plans, designs, and develops mechanical products and systems.
Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 9 years of related experienceStrong background in mechanical design, analysis, assembly and integration and environmental testingExperience with design and development of precision mechanical components and assemblies.
Ability to conduct trade studies of engineering analysis and present results in written formatDemonstrated ability to articulate technical concepts to other internal and customer teams.
Experience in Finite Element/Finite Difference analysisExperience with computer aided design using Solidworks or equivalent CAD packagesExperience with thermal and structural analysis methodologies and software tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical EngineeringSpecialty Engineering Experience in Environmental and/or Safety.
Experience with mechanical overhaul procedure development at the equipment and system level.
Experience conducting analysis of mechanical components and structures involving launch equipment, determining effectiveness, and creating written recommendations for increasing efficiency.
