Duties:


  • Inspect linen for quality, damage, or overall appearance.
  • Operate a motor vehicle to transport and deliver medical supplies, linen or equipment.
  • Maintain stock of supplies, equipment, or materials to ensure availability.
  • Scan bar codes into an automated record system to ensure receipt of information.
  • Notes discrepancies and reports discrepancies to Material Handler Work Leader.

  • Required to attend Government Purchase Card (GPC) training and comply with program requirements upon completion.
  • Required to attend Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) training and comply with the DMLSS program requirements upon completion.
  • The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required for the position. Applicant must submit a current Dept of Motor Vehicles (DMV) printout at time of selection.
  • May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Personnel are often required to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time, and to bend, stoop, and work in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions.

Most tasks require quick hand and arm movements.

Workers continually handle, carry, or lift items and/or bundles that weigh up to 40 pounds; however, in receiving and shipping, occasional lifting of bulk bundles weighing over 50 pounds is required.

Dexterously move, position, or operate wheeled carts or non-mechanical weight handling equipment independently or with assistance from other workers.
