About the team:

This is a new role being offered at Turo within our protection department. We are seeking a high-impact individual to be an arbitration specialist on our outbound subrogation team.

The new position of arbitration specialist provides technical expertise and guidance to the protection department and leadership and ensures file handling meets or exceeds all company guidelines and state requirements.

The arbitration specialist will work closely with the Claims Operations team and will provide analysis, training, and program reviews of our arbitration process.

You'll manage an inventory of Arbitration claims ranging from coverage, auto, and property damage to determine the best course of action for resolution.

You'll work with attorneys, internal and external customers, and businesses.


What you'll do:


  • Investigate to determine a claim's arbitration potential and pursue an appropriate recovery, including subrogation denial reviews, Damage disputes, coverage disputes, and liability disputes.
  • Prepare materials, documentation, and inoffice mail handling on unsettled claims to communicate to all relevant parties inclusive of; claims professionals, clients, attorneys, collection agencies, arbitration, and if appropriate, for further legal action.
  • Address arbitration for qualifying outbound and inbound arbitration.
  • Maintain an active diary to ensure all claims are aggressively pursued
  • Work closely with our subrogation teams and liability partners.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement in Turo's processes for claims handling, and strive to make Turo's organization a leader in customer service and cost management.
  • Be an active contributor to Turo's claims department and a revolutionary culture.
  • Meet KPIs for customer satisfaction and financial performance.
  • Perform all Arbitration record keeping by maintaining a current status in documents and notes.
  • Collaborate or lead special projects, change initiatives, or other activities
  • Must work in multiple systems to assist direct reports with timely file resolution.
  • Must work effectively amid constant interruptions and shifting priorities
  • Other duties assigned

Your profile:


  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in auto damage arbitration filing and hearings
  • Work experience includes:
  • Claims Arbitration handling.
  • Fastpaced and changing environment
  • Multitasking and time management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of ArbForums and proper procedures
  • Fouryear college degree preferred
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate results, problemsolving, and internal reporting
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Be influential and passionate about the subrogation process and outcomes
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, drive and embrace change
  • Excellent followthrough, attention to detail, and mínimal need for supervision
  • Must be a team player, with a positive mental attitude, high energy, high integrity, strong work ethic, enthusiasm, sense of humor, and a commitment to the mission
  • A track record of achieving or exceeding key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Commitment to high responsiveness and availability
The Phoenix base pay for this full-time position is $ equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in this location.
