Accountability Objectives:


This is a full-time, 10-month position to assist in the implementation of the instructional and behavioral management program with students who exhibit a variety of learning and behavioral problems.

First-Year - 200 days; Returning - 197 days

Academy Principal, classroom and resource teachers, parents and families

Position Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree


Position Responsibilities:
A. Understand the educational philosophy of the school and carry out the policies of the Board of Directors

B. Lead and manage the student discipline and consequence program

C. Complete regular proactive and preventative walk-throughs throughout the entire academy

D. Assist in working with an individual students or group of students in the classroom or in a separate setting removed from the classroom

E. Determine the readiness of and facilitate a student's return to his/her regular class

F. Lead supervision of students in the performance of academic tasks, using materials and methods provided by teachers

G. Lead and supervise students during arrival, dismissal, recess, lunch, and off-campus activities

H. Demonstrate knowledge of and practice intervention strategies in managing the behavior of students in emotionally stressful and crisis situations

I. Restrain highly emotional students

J. Collect and maintain behavioral data, i.e. charting, graphing, activity logs, etc

K. Communicate behavioral interventions with families

L. Mediate student conflicts as necessary

M. Lead school culture efforts, including monitoring of attendance, retention, and suspension

N. Maintain confidentiality at all times; maintain good attendance and flexibility while working cooperatively with supervisors and other employees

O. Plan for professional growth through staff development, course work, and/or other

opportunities

P. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal and other administrators
