Overview:
Under direct supervision, perform all duties related to registering patients receiving services by obtaining demographic, insurance, and medical information and billing tasks.
Serves as a resource to all registrars and expertise in departmental policies and procedures in regards to registration.Responsibilities:
Performs all functions of patient registration including short registration for labs and diagnostics where applicable.
Performs patient registration in multiple sites for hospital and ambulatory setting including but not limited to Invision/Gold, SCI/Schedule Maximizer, Cerner, Accu Reg, HME and Athena.

Verifies if patient needs referral for physician visits.
Daily reconciliation of co-pays. Follow daily billing procedures.
Assist in care and maintenance of office equipment, building and supplies.
Understands how to utilize the following systems: Current health information system, DI (Document Imaging), DHIN (Delaware Health Information Network), Gold, Provider Portal, and other systems as needed.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Two years' experience in hospital/medical office environment with familiarity of registration and insurance.
Computer skills with attention to details. Familiar with medical terminology.
Ability to communicate with public in a courteous manner. Ability to adapt to change in order to meet patient and organizational needs. Sensitive to difficult/emotional patient situations. Ability to recognize cultural diversity and special needs, remains calm and able to perform duties in a fast-paced environment.

- High school graduate or equivalent
