    UPS Technician 3

    The Critical Power Group is tasked with the maintenance, servicing, and troubleshooting of UPS systems, batteries, and other essential infrastructure equipment. Our technicians are trained by manufacturers such as Ametek, SCI, Cyberex, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Gutor, APC, MGE, Schneider Electric, Powerware/Eaton, among others.

    About the Job Title and the Company:
    This position involves hands-on work with critical power equipment at various customer sites, providing technical support, and ensuring the reliability of power systems.

    Duties And Responsibilities:

    • Daily travel with independent work structure.
    • Emergency call availability 24/7 unless on PTO or Off Call.
    • Maintaining company-issued equipment, tools, and instruments.
    • Battery Repair & Replacement; installations and replacements.
    • Performing preventative maintenance and scheduled equipment testing.
    • Customer contact and interface.
    • Communication of availability status within the team and corporate office.
    • Protecting company proprietary information and records.
    • Use of electronic and electrical test equipment as required.
    • Coordinating on-site subcontractors as needed.
    • Ensuring work is in line with company standards.
    • Completing all necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Providing technical support to customers as needed.
    • Maintaining technical documentation for reference.
    • Participating in product-specific training.
    • Cross-training other technicians as needed.
    Other duties as assigned.

    • Inspecting power electronic systems and their controls, including UPS systems, batteries, Static Transfer Switches, Power Distribution Units, etc.
    • Certifying system components meet quality standards and specifications.
    • Reviewing system drawings and specifications for accuracy.
    • Providing technical assistance and expertise to owners and engineers.
    • Maintaining operational expertise with various instruments.
    • Availability for on-call duties 24/7.
    • Performing other assigned duties.

    Supervisory Controls:

    • Work is performed under general supervision from Regional Managers and Team Leads.
    • Primary purpose is to certify power electronics for reliability and quality.

    Qualifications Requirements:

    • AA/BS degree in Electrical and/or Electronics or equivalent field.
    • Minimum five (5) years of experience with UPS systems and associated electrical apparatuses.
    Proficiency in reading complex technical instructions, plans, and diagrams.

    Pay range:
    $48.00/hour

    Abilities:

    • Lifts up to 100 pounds at one time.
    • Can relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
    • Works at heights up to 60 feet and balances on various structures.
    • Performs physical tasks routinely and repetitively.
    • Displays good vision, color vision, and English communication skills.
    • Recognizes issues and applies general rules to problem-solving.
    • Combines information to form conclusions.
    • Listens and understands spoken information effectively.
