Part-Time Maintenance I Worker

JOB SUMMARY

Designated a National Historic Landmark, The Grove is 150 acres of ecologically diverse land preserved and maintained by Glenview Park District
.

This role is responsible for performing a wide variety of general labor tasks including cleaning, maintenance, repairs, painting, construction, and landscaping.

Duties include, but are not limited, to:

Cleaning the interiors of buildings thoroughly (washing and waxing floors, washing windows, wiping walls, cleaning bathrooms and kitchen areas etc.)
Maintaining the outside grounds of The Grove, including nature areas and pathways
Performing all seasonal work assignments (urban forestry, planting, watering, mowing, raking, chipping etc.)
Performing setup and teardown for programs and special events
Maintaining all tools, equipment, machinery and mechanical systems as necessary
Routinely inspecting site and landscaping (walkways, parking lots, etc.)
Identifying and repairing or reporting any failures or hazards
Ensuring repairs are completed while preserving the historical integrity of the site

QUALIFICATIONS

PAY & SCHEDULING
This is a year-round, part-time position, working approximately 20-30 hours/week. Applicants must be able to work a varied schedule including some nights and weekends as required. Starting pay is $18/hour, dependent on qualifications.
