- Perform all aspects of Visual Fields diagnostic testing.

- Basic Skills and Lensometry
- Measure and record current lens power accurately with a lensometer.
- Evaluate the pupil.
- Understand clinical optic applications pertaining to patient correction for perimetry testing.
- Visual Fields
- Understand the visual pathway from the retina to the visual cortex.
- Perform a visual field utilizing Goldman perimeter and Humphrey automated perimeter.
- Calibrate the perimeter for accurate testing.
- Identify common visual field defects and correspond with the correct etiology: neurological, glaucomatous, retinal, physiologic, or functional.
- Understand the different visual field tests available and differences between them and why they are performed.
- Identify and understand related diagnosis and perform tests according to physician and insurance needs.
- Instrument Maintenance
- Perform routine instrument maintenance on all ophthalmic equipment
- Stock and maintain examination rooms in assigned area ensuring supplies are current
- Maintain testing accessories e.g. Trial lens.
- General medical knowledge including understanding of CPR, basic anatomy and physiology, systemic disease, ocular disease, ocular emergencies.
- Understand patient chart entry and navigation pertaining to visual field patient needs. Utilize patient tracking per sub-specialty guidelines.
- Completion of tickets.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must have knowledge of ocular anatomy.
- Must be actively certified in CPR, or will become certified in CPR.
- Must have good interpersonal skills to work directly with patients and medical professionals.
- The ability to perform visual fields with the Humphrey automated perimeter including calibration and maintenance of equipment a plus.

Location: Work takes place in a normal clinical environment. Travel to other CVP locations may be necessary to fulfill essential duties and responsibilities of the job. Thus, those needing to travel for work must have access to dependable transportation, and driving record must meet company liability carrier standards.
Exposure: Works in normal clinical environment during normal business hours. May be exposed to blood or bodily fluids. May also be exposed to various cleaning supplies.
Equipment: Regularly uses Ophthalmic equipment/devices per sub-specialty requirement such as keratometer; phoropter; visual acuity measuring/B-VAT; ultrasound unit; specular microscopy unit; corneal topography unit; retinoscope; slit lamp microscope, telephone, computer, fax, printer and copier. Other equipment may be used as needed. Must be able to work with precise tools and equipment; must have dexterity to use these items correctly and safely. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment.
