POSITION PURPOSE
Under the general guidance of the Director of Front Office, oversee the overnight operations of the Front Office Department. Ensure that Front Desk and communications meet hotel standards for maximum guest satisfaction.

Act as the main contact for guests and other hotel departments in the absence of the Director of Front Office.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Act as manager on duty for the hotel in the absence of the Director of Front Office and Director of Hotel Operations dealing with complaints, problem solving, disturbances, special requests and any other issues that may arise.
  • Communicate to night staff all nightly activities, group and VIP arrivals as well as any special request and frequent guests.
  • Conduct briefings for all overnight staff along with frequent radio checkins with night staff.
  • Welcome our guests to the hotel in a friendly and helpful manner, ensure that the public areas are kept clean and tidy
  • Monitor and develop overnight front desk staff members performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, assigning nightly work, conducting training, coaching & counseling and evaluations and recognition.
  • Manage the night shift in the department ensuring all employees perform the tasks assigned to them and coordinate Front Office activities with other departments.
  • Direct and oversee all hotel operations during overnight to ensure guest safety and service standards are met.
  • Ensure all necessary audit reports and forms are completed accurately and within timely manner.
  • Report shift notes to all Front Office, Hotel Management, and Executive Committee members at the end of every shift.
  • Participate in the decision making process on guest relocation for nights when over capacity, execute accordingly and ensure a smooth relocation process. This effort must be coordinated with Director of Front Office and/or Director of Hotel Operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school degree or equivalent, Bachelor degree in Hospitality preferred.
  • Two years of Front Desk Supervisory/Management and/or night audit experience.
  • Proficiency in Opera PMS and Microsoft Office.
  • Must work nights, willing to holidays and weekends.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks.
  • Excellent at verbal communication
  • Works well and efficiently under pressure.
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of staff and management.
