Job Purpose:
Coordinate the collection of random samples from production batches/lots. Perform a wide variety of complex testing processes to measure product's physical characteristics. Use highly sophisticated and precise testing instruments
Under the instruction and following established procedures and guidelines, test and conduct routine analysis of in-process and finished product batches using variety of testing devices and procedures to maintain product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty safely, satisfactorily, and in a timely manner.
- Must follow all established safety rules and procedures
- Must demonstrate integrity while performing duties as per company's Code of Conduct
- Perform a wide variety of complex testing processes on production batches to measure the product's physical or chemical characteristics. Tests include but are not limited to, viscosity, weight per unit of measure, flow, gloss, color characteristics (compared with standards), and various other similar tests.
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment
- Maintain records and charts for all products that are checked by the individual.
- Record and report observations or test results in the appropriate QC card or file. The data should be complete and written legibly
- Work with the QC manager, production staff, and development staff to evaluate production or field related problems
- Help identify potential causes of complaints
- Actively engaged in 5S activities
- Helps sustain and improve organization in work areas
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or science or associate degree or 1+ year laboratory experience
- 13 years of relevant lab experience
- Microsoft Office skills required (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Excel skill level intermediate to advanced
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow safety instructions and safety guidelines
Total Compensation:
- The hourly range for these skills is: $22.75/hr; 3rd Shift Difference $1.00 plus 4% Annual Bonus
