- Lead the development of a Continuous Improvement system within the team environment in TileBar's distribution network.
- Develop and execute training/immersion programs to train functional manufacturing leaders to become subject matter experts in Lean Concepts (5 S, Standardized Work, Value Stream Mapping, PDCA, and Continuous Improvement system).
- Develop, assess, and monitor the capability needs of distribution to effectively deploy the Continuous Improvement system and Lean concepts.
- Track and integrate ongoing Continuous Improvement efforts by functional areas to ensure that projects and plans are on track, adequately supported with trained resources, and in fulfillment of manufacturing-wide Continuous Improvement plans.
- Develop organizational measures and infrastructure to support ongoing operational improvements to drive continuous improvements and operational effectiveness.
- Develop and utilize a system to measure and report progress on an ongoing basis for the Continuous Improvement system, ideas, waste reduction efforts, and progress toward manufacturing-wide Continuous Improvement Plans.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- This position does not directly supervise employees.
- At least 5 years of experience in quality engineering within a distribution or manufacturing environment.
- At least 5 years of experience in change management, continuous improvement, process optimization, or related fields.
- Prior experience should include policy/strategy deployment - new product development - demand segmentation and product rationalization.
- Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Business, or Operations Management.
- Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt) is preferred.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards preferred.
- Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.

- Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule; including early mornings and late nights as required.
- Partner and establish strong working relationships with other departments that provide support to the overall operation.
- Experience with a production/operating system similar to the Toyota Production System
- Effectively lead Kaizen for production/distribution and business processes.
- Understanding of Lean Principles such as 5S, pull, flow, takt, JIT, kanban.
- Utilize value stream mapping to document and clarify the "current state" of processes. Design associated "future state" maps with waste eliminated and lead times reduced as guides to maximize efficiencies.
- Experience with Mistake-proofing or Poke-yoke.
- Knowledge of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
- SMED or Equivalent Quick Changeover.
- MDI (manage for daily improvement).
- Effective implementation of visual management techniques.
- Experience in prior lean transformations - DLS.
- Firm understanding of SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning).
- Formal problem-solving techniques such as 8D or 5-Why.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, Access, Vizio and PowerPoint.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times; seldom required to lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Summary:
The Continuous Improvement Engineer role is responsible for the development of Continuous Improvement projects and ideas to support TileBar's Continuous Improvement plans; consulting support for the disciplined use of the Continuous Improvement process; development of the distributions team's self-sufficiency in proper selection and use of Continuous Improvement tools and processes; and management oversight of Continuous Improvement projects.
