Statement of Job:
is excited to announce a job opportunity for a Mental Health Counselor. The Mental Health Counselor provides individual and group counseling to students to help them navigate challenges impacting their academic, social, career, and personal goals. This position will also provide after-hours crisis consultation to Residence Life staff and mental health consultation to UMF students, staff, and faculty. Topics commonly addressed include relationship issues, life decisions, motivation, personal growth, adjustment to college, anxiety, depression, grief, alcohol and substance abuse, sexuality, trauma/abuse, identity, and lifestyle choices. Counselors actively engage in outreach initiatives, delivering training sessions, and prevention activities.
This is a full-time (40-hour work week), 9-month position with pay distributed across twelve months. A typical work year is August 15th through May 15th.
