DCI Job Requirement for:
Cognitive Behavior Analyst
Location:
Washington, D.C.
Support the development of a community-wide approach to chemical incident emergency response
Understand unique chemical threats and develop scenario-based response training and exercises
Support emergency response planning that can be utilized throughout the country
- Promote agile decision making
- Increase response capabilities during a chemical incident
- Identify critical decision points and information flows
- Make decisions during a response to a chemical incident
Utilize the Cognitive Task Analysis to conduct front-end data collection
Provide analysis of the key decisions made during an incident response event
- Focus on key decisionmakers, individual, and team level decisions
- Aggregate analysis of the entire jurisdiction
- Outline decisions that affect the course of action, team communication, and response
Enhance the ability of organizations across various domains to capture and transfer expertise
Develop instructor-led face-to-face (F2F) curricula
- Use standard courseware development methodology
Qualifications:
Expertise in naturalistic decision-making sciences
- (e.g., emergency response incident commanders and emergency physicians)
Experience dealing with complex situations, with time pressure, uncertainty and high stakes
Capable of making quick, effective decisions
Knowledge and experience using cognitive task analysis
Comfortable using cognitive task mapping to analyze the decision-making processes of teams
- (e.g., law enforcement, fire, EMS and emergency managers)
Experience using scenario-based learning sessions to accelerate gaining experience in decision-making
Ability to Obtain and Maintain Public Trust
Pay:
$130, $170,000.00 per hour
