Join Our Team as a Cardiology Invasive Technologist at Our Esteemed Healthcare Organization!
As a Cardiology Invasive Technologist, you will be utilizing a wide range of technical skills during cardiac and vascular procedures in our state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratories.
The cardiovascular technologist's main responsibility is to operate advanced equipment under the direct supervision of a qualified licensed independent practitioner (LIP).
Proficiency in angiography, patient preparation, assessment, documentation, and monitoring is essential to ensure safe, efficient, and comfortable exams for all patients, adhering to our policies and procedures.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
Current certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International or eligibility for certification completion within 6 months of hire date Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
Valid RCIS or RCES certification Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
Experience Requirements:
Previous experience as mandated by Cardiovascular Credentialing International
Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) year of prior invasive cardiology experience Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
Education/training Requirements:
Graduation from a programmatically accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology or electrophysiology, or equivalent education, training, and/or experience meeting the eligibility criteria for RCIS or RCES certification Education/training
Additional Position Details:
Independent action(s) required: Ability to perform in scrub and monitor roles during diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiac catheterization or electrophysiology lab.
Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): None Additional position requirements: Work schedule will be determined by your supervisor, including shift rotations and on-call hours based on staffing needs. Be prepared for weekend and after-hours coverage depending on workload demands.
Cardiovascular Technologists are designated as Essential Employees and must adhere to VCUHS Policy guidelines.Age Specific groups served:
