What do CNC machinists do at Williams Acres?

CNC machinists manufacture precision components in the μ-range from a variety of metals for various industries, such as analysis and medical technology, automotive, hydraulics/pneumatics, and others. They set up computer-controlled turning, milling, and grinding machines and program and modify machine programs accordingly. They then clamp the workpieces and tools into the machines, align them, and start the machining process. They continuously check whether the dimensions and surface quality of the finished workpieces meet the specifications.

During your apprenticeship, you will learn all the specific skills of the profession and apply them in practice. The goal of the apprenticeship is to be able to perform all tasks independently or in a team.

Your requirements

Completion of secondary school, technical secondary school, vocational college, or equivalent. Good grades in natural science subjects such as math and technology.

Duration of apprenticeship

3 1/2 years with the option of shortening the apprenticeship

In the 1st year, block instruction at the Kehl Vocational School, from the 2nd year alternating between the company and school (Wolfach Trade School)
