Deer Park United Methodist Church is seeking an EXPERIENCED Full-time Custodian to join our dynamic team.


Responsibilities:

• Proven experience as a custodian or housekeeper.
• Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
• Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing.
• Cleans bathrooms, check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate.
• Vacuums carpets and buffs floors.
• Empties all wastebaskets and collect trash around church and offices.
• Unlock and lock rooms as needed.
• Setup and tear down tables and chairs based on calendar instructions or drawings.
• Open and close buildings daily, ensuring that lights are turned on and off at appropriate times.
• Cooperate with other custodian in completing jobs.
• Performs additional duties as directed by a manager or supervisor.

Custodian Requirements

• Must be detail oriented
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and climb an 8 ft. ladder.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, push, pull, reach, lift, and carry objects.
• Generates a sense of hospitality by his/her very presence; communicates a sense of availability, warmth,

openness, and approachability.

• Establishes good working relationships; works well with people at all levels; considers the impact of

his/her actions on others; uses diplomacy and tact; and is approachable.

• Must have reliable transportation.

We are looking for a person who can focus on attention to detail while being friendly, courteous and respectful.

This individual will perform any combination of cleaning duties to maintain a clean, efficient, sanitary and comfortable setting for our members, guest and staff of the Church.
