- Operate complex distillation and process laboratory equipment as directed by the supervisor/lead technician.
- Handle large and small reactors, distillation columns, and operate at various temperatures and pressures.
- Participate in Operational Excellence (OE) initiatives both individually and as part of a team.
- Operate process units and related equipment following instructions from research scientists and engineers.
- Support sample handling activities for research and crude assay samples.
- Achieve OE objectives and milestones.
- High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum 2+ years of Plant and/or Lab Operations experience, specifically with distilling and fractionating hydrocarbons.
- Experience with process equipment and technology.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and occasional overtime.
- Education / Certifications
- Industry experience
- Refinery Operator Training preferred.
- Experience with chemicals, heavy oil, and distillate research.
- Knowledge of process equipment and technology.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Strong Communication & Chevron Way Behaviors.
