SUMMER CAMP COUNSELORS WANTED FOR "BOYS" DIVISION (JUNE 10-JULY 30, 2024)
Harand Camp of the Theatre Arts, an established theater, sports and activities camp for children 7-18, is looking for Male-Identifying / Non-Binary Camp Counselors (age 18+) for its 69th Season (June 10 - July 30, Strong applicants should have previous experience working with kids and the ability to teach or assist in a variety of activity areas.
Harand Camp does not discriminate based on gender and is open and accepting of all.
However, this specific position has a bona fide occupational qualification as these counselors must live on the designated "boy" hall on campus.
Counselors must be able to work & reside on campus at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI for our entire camp season, June 10 - July 30, 2024. This is a full-time, contracted position.
The position pays $200+ per week (more for Lifeguard and Nurse Certification), PLUS full room and board on a college campus (valued additional $450+ per week - including a single or double dorm room on the "boys" hall and 3 meals per day).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Camp Counselors must be 18+ (out of high school)
- Excellent with kids of all ages
- Ability to instruct activity classes in variety of areas
- High energy + flexible in a fastpaced environment
- Strong leadership + teambuilding skills
- Positive attitude, common sense, and sound judgment
- Sincere desire to be a role model for children
SPECIFIC AREAS OF FOCUS:
- Performing Arts (Singing, Acting, Dancing)
- Technical Theater (costuming / scenic design / set building)
- Sports (Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, etc.)
- Swimming / Pool Games
- Arts + Crafts / Fine Arts
- Video / Photo
- Vocal Music / Piano Accompaniment
- General Games and Activities
OTHER DETAILS:
- $1400+ stipend for Assistant Counselors (18+, just out of high school)
- $1500+ stipend for Counselors (18+, one-year post-high school)
- Plus, full room & board at Carthage College (room & 3 meals a day, valued ~$450 per week)
- Small Travel Stipend available for those coming from outside Illinois/Wisconsin
- Sevenweek commitment (including orientation)
- 2024 Dates: June 10 July 30, 2024
