    Doncasters Structural Castings of Oxford is excited to announce that they are seeking an experienced Ceramics Engineer to add to their team based in Oxford, AL. We are seeking an individual who has a sound technical understanding of ceramics, with the ability to apply that understanding to practical application.

    Doncasters is a leading international manufacturer of specialist superalloys and high precision alloy components made for the most demanding conditions with manufacturing facilities in Europe, USA Mexico, China, and India. Doncasters Structural Castings of Oxford is a leading manufacturer of vacuum and air melt investment castings in Nickel and Cobalt based superalloys. Our facility specializes in small to medium sized castings for customers worldwide in aerospace, industrial gas turbine and commercial markets.

    Some of the products at DSCO include, nozzles, heatshields, seal segments, torque bars and many more that keep the world in motion DSCO is one of our larger sites employing around 210 employees, situated in Alabama it is a very commutable and accessible site to reach.

    The Role

    Do you have strong analytical skills? Do you enjoy solving problems? This is a full-time hands-on position where you will be responsible for developing and optimizing ceramic materials and processes for investment casting applications within the aerospace industry. Do you have an industrial Engineering background with experience in the manufacturing industry and the casting process. Do you have a strong educational background with a bachelors degree in Material Science, Ceramic Engineering, or a related field. Do you also have an eye for detail and have confidence in your analytical skills.

    This is a key component to our process, and we are looking for committed, enthusiastic employees. As a Ceramics Engineer, you will partner with Leadership while working within an experienced team. You will receive continuous feedback to help you grow and develop to maximize your potential. This individual will work with motivated employees and our Management Team to become a part of a successful Industrial Casting Company with a good work life balance.

    Responsibilities

    • Designing, analyzing, and modifying ceramic molds and cores to meet set requirements.
    • Collaborating with various teams to provide technical expertise in ceramic materials, design manufacturability and process optimization.
    • Performing testing and evaluation of ceramic materials to ensure compliance with quality standards.
    • Supporting the implementation of new technologies, materials, and processes to drive continuous improvement in investment casting.

    Technical understanding and manual skills: To succeed in this role, you will need to be an accomplished Engineer with 2-3 years of experience in the manufacturing industry and the casting process or a bachelors degree in Material Science, Ceramic Engineering, or a related engineering field.
