Requirements for consideration:


Minimum Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in science from a college/university recognized by regional or national accreditation agency. Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology preferred.
  • Other acceptable forms of education/experience will follow the guidelines of ASCP/AMT Board certification.

Years of Experience:


  • Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited MLS program or ABHES accredited MLT program, within the last 12 months can be used in lieu of oneyear full time acceptable clinical experience.

Certification:

-
Must be eligible for ASCP or AMT Board certification consistent with scope of responsibility to include: MT, MLS, MLT, BB, SBB, C, H, M, SH, SCT, MB, SMB, SM, SC, HEW.

  • Certification must be obtained within 2 years of hire date.

Responsibilities:


  • Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with team members to optimize job performance and foster working relationships.
  • To help achieve our mission, you will ensure quality specimens for Laboratory testing by recognizing preanalytical factors that adversely affect patient results.
  • Your ability to operate systems/methodologies in order to produce timely and accurate data for patients, quality control and proficiency testing is of vital importance.
  • Participating in departmental development by demonstrating operational knowledge and adhering to regulatory standards is required.
  • Participating in professional growth opportunities to enhance personal, team and departmental development is expected. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
