Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must:

Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
Be able to maintain physical fitness and sufficient strength to control struggling or disabled swimmers
.
Be able to communicate clearly and concisely
.
Possess basic skills in the use of a computer and administrative support software to prepare correspondence and reports.
Successfully meet the State of Florida good moral character and Level II background screening standards (Florida State Statutes
.

Desirable Qualifications

Preferred applicants:

Have some supervisory experience as a lifeguard at a public swimming pool
.
Are skilled in swimming, rescue work, resuscitation and first aid
.
Have completed the National Swimming Pool Foundation's Certified Pool Operators course.
Possess the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer and American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer Certificates.
Have considerable knowledge of the methods and techniques related to teaching swimming, water safety and lifesaving classes
.
Are able to organize and direct the activities of swimming pool employees.
Have experience using ActiveNet, KRONOS, and Oracle iProcurement computer software programs.
